A talented musician with a wealth of performance experience. Kylie is versatile and has performed many solo concerts since starting dedicated music school from age 13.
Kylie Yang; Flute
Kylie Yang is from Taiwan and she started playing the flute at the age of ten. She moved to England in January 2004 and was accepted into the RNCM juniors department where she studied with Jonathan Rimmer. Two years later she was awarded a place at Chetham’s School of Music, Manchester, for sixth form studies and learnt with Laura Jellicoe. She is now a second year student at the RNCM carrying on her studies with Laura.
Since Chetham’s Kylie regularly gives solo and chamber recitals including numerous lunch time concerts, solo recitals at churches such as Holy Trinity Church, Warrington and St. Wilfrid Church, Mobberley, performance at St. Johnsmith’s Square, London with her previous wind quintet ‘The Sirens’, performance at MUMS lunch time concert with her piano trio ‘Absolute and performance at St. Anns Church, Manchester with her current wind quintet ‘Aeolus’. Kylie has also participated in the chamber music competition at the RNCM with ‘Aeolus Winds’ and have had very good feedback from the judges. Kylie’s orchestral projects have included playing with the Chetham’s Symphony Orchestra, several college and JRNCM orchestras, playing at prestigious venues including The Bridge Water Hall, Selby Abbey, Chester Cathedral and Windsor Castle.
During being at Chetham’s and the RNCM, Kylie has taken part in masterclasses with Gitte Sorensen, Kate Hill, Peter Lloyd, Emily Beynon, Stefano Parrino, Richard Davis, Steven Preston, Jamie Martin and Hansjorg Schellenberger.
